January reminded all of us just how unpredictable life on the road can be. Across the country, trucking companies faced extreme winter weather, icy highways, delayed schedules, and rising operating costs, all while still being expected to deliver on time and keep freight moving. I want to start by saying thank you. Truck drivers and fleet owners showed up every day despite conditions most people never have to face, and that resilience deserves recognition. I’m very proud to say the Cashway team also stayed up and running through the inclement weather so our clients could continue getting the support and funding they depend on.
At Cashway, we work closely with trucking companies of all sizes, and over the past month I’ve heard the same message again and again: winter was tough. Fuel costs are unpredictable. Loads couldn’t be delivered due to weather. Repairs piled up. Freight rates are still low. Cash flow became tighter. And for many carriers, waiting on invoice payments while dealing with severe weather stoppages made an already demanding job even harder.
That’s why moments like this matter. Tough seasons have a way of reminding us what truly makes a difference for all businesses: reliability, relationships, and support you can count on.
Trucking Is Still a People Business
The freight industry continues to evolve with automation and artificial intelligence, but at its core, trucking remains a people business. Behind every load is a driver making real-time decisions, a family depending on a steady and reliable income, and a business owner managing risk while planning the next mile.
No algorithm replaces trust. No system works without real people standing behind it. What we heard recently from carriers across the country is clear: while technology helps the industry move faster, personal service and transparency still drive long-term success.

Lessons from a Tough Winter
This winter highlighted three important realities for trucking businesses:
- Reliability matters more than ever. When weather disrupts schedules and costs rise, knowing when your money will arrive is critical.
- Strong partnerships reduce stress. Trucking companies need partners who understand the industry, are there for them, and respond quickly.
- Preparation creates opportunity. Hard seasons force businesses to refocus and prepare for better months ahead.
Looking Ahead to Spring
As we move toward spring, there is a sense of reset in the air. Roads will clear. Days will grow longer. Freight patterns will shift again. This is the time for trucking businesses to regroup, refocus, and prepare for new opportunities.
At Cashway Funding, our commitment is simple: to be a factoring partner trucking companies can rely on, especially after a difficult winter. That means helping drivers get paid when they expect to be paid. It means offering tools that help manage fuel and operating costs. And it means providing real, personal service from a team that understands the challenges of running a trucking business.
This spring, we’re also excited to introduce new tools designed to give carriers even more control:
The New & Improved Cashway Mobile App – redesigned from the ground up to be faster, simpler, and easier to use than ever before. With a cleaner interface and more intuitive navigation, clients can view invoices, check funding status, upload documents, and monitor account activity in real time — all from their phone. No waiting on emails. No digging through portals. Just straightforward access to the information you need, when you need it.
EasyExit – our innovative program designed to help trucking companies transition out of restrictive factoring contracts without the financial hit that often holds them back. Because growth should never feel like you’re stuck at a dead end.
Fuel Card Credit Line Access – providing added purchasing power when fuel prices fluctuate, helping carriers stay on the road without cash flow disruptions. The PowerCard from Cashway is so much more than just a fuel discount program.
We believe trucking companies deserve:
• Transparent factoring programs
• Flexible solutions that grow with their business
• Smart tools that make cash flow management easier
• Support from real people — not offshore call centers or AI bots
Whether it’s navigating steady cash flow, choosing better-paying loads, breaking free from an old contract, or accessing fuel credit when it matters most, our goal is simple: make the business side of trucking less stressful so drivers can focus on what they do best.
Spring always brings movement. At Cashway, we’re making sure that movement works in your favor.

A Community Built on Trust
Winter showed us once again that trucking isn’t easy — but it also showed us how strong this community really is. From independent owner-operators to growing fleets, trucking companies proved their determination through storms, delays, and uncertainty.
As we move into spring, my hope is that the months ahead bring smoother roads, stronger markets, and renewed confidence for trucking businesses across the country.
From all of us at Cashway Funding, thank you for pushing through the storms and keeping America moving. We’re proud to stand beside you, not just in the good seasons, but when the road gets tough.
Winter tested us. Now it’s time to move forward. Here’s to safer miles, steadier cash flow, and a strong, profitable spring ahead. Thank you for being part of the Cashway journey.
